J.D. Farag: Urgent Bible Prophecy Update – Thursday, May 10th, 2018

In light of rapid developments leading up to Israel’s 70th anniversary, Pastor J.D. explains why many key prophecies—Zechariah 12, Daniel 9:27, Isaiah 17, Ezekiel 38—appear to be converging. This concise update covers Israel–Iran tensions, global alignment, and the imminence of the pre-tribulation rapture, urging believers to watch, pray, and be ready—without setting dates.

Pastor J.D. Farag – Urgent Mid-East Prophecy Update

Tonight, I want to share something unexpected. Have you seen what has happened just in the last four days? This morning I sought the Lord and made the decision to give an urgent Mid-East Prophecy Update instead of continuing in the book of Job. I had fully intended to finish Job tonight, covering chapters 40–42, and then move into Psalms. At first, I thought I could give a brief update and then finish Job—but the urgency of recent events changed that.

I also want to mention that I will not be here on Sunday; Pastor Mac will be filling in. That means there will be no prophecy update then. I may post on social media if something happens that seems important over the weekend, especially as we approach Monday, May 14.

May 14 marks the 70th anniversary of the rebirth of the nation of Israel. That alone is very significant. When you consider everything that has led up to this date, it is compelling. I’m not predicting anything, but I do believe we would be wise to remain watchful in the days ahead.

Please don’t put words in my mouth, like Job’s so-called friends did. I am not suggesting dates or setting timelines. I am simply pointing out how events are aligning and encouraging us to be discerning and watchful.

Now, please also be patient with me. Normally, I spend two full days preparing a prophecy update. I didn’t have that this time—barely half a day. So tonight’s update is presented humbly. And I emphasize “humbly” because I am not a prophecy expert. Please don’t ever call me that. I am just someone who loves Bible prophecy, longs for the Lord’s return, and has studied these things passionately since I came to Christ over 36 years ago.

Never take my word—or anyone else’s word—as truth without searching the Scriptures for yourself. Be a Berean. We live in an age of misinformation, and it is essential that we each study God’s Word carefully.

From here, Pastor Farag continued to:

  • Address reports about Trump’s Middle East peace plan and possible division of Jerusalem.

  • Warn against dismissing prophetic developments as “fake news” too quickly.

  • Highlight how Zechariah 12, Daniel 9:27, Isaiah 17, Ezekiel 38, and other key prophecies are converging.

  • Reflect on geopolitical events such as the U.S. withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, Iranian hostilities, Israel’s defense actions, and rising tensions involving Russia, Turkey, and others.

  • Emphasize that these are unprecedented times with developments unfolding rapidly.

  • Reaffirm the pre-tribulation rapture as the Church’s blessed hope, drawing parallels from Jewish wedding customs and Old Testament typology.

  • Remind believers of our call to readiness, holiness, evangelism, and faithfulness as we await Christ’s imminent return.

He closed with prayer, thanking God for His Word, for the patience of the congregation, and expressing longing for Jesus’ soon return: “Maranatha—come quickly, Lord Jesus.”
