Birth Pangs
Birth Pangs – A biblical metaphor describing the signs that precede the Tribulation and Second Coming of Christ. Just as birth pains increase in frequency and intensity before delivery, end-times signs will grow stronger and closer together as the world approaches the Rapture and the Day of the Lord.
"Birth Pangs” is the more common and biblically accurate phrase used in most traditional and literal translations."Birth Pains" is more modern English; found in dynamic translations (NIV, NLT). "Sorrows" is the older English rendering of the Greek word ōdinōn

Something Interesting to Consider
What if? In the video clip above from Derek Prince titled 'How Do We React to the End Time Birth Pangs', Prince describes a woman experiencing birth pangs as being on the edge of a 'new age'. We can all agree that the Church Age or dispensation began with the birth of Christ and the Church Age will end with the Rapture of the Church. Now think about the Revelation 12 Sign in this context... a marvelous conjunction of planets and stars that tells a story of a virgin (constellation Virgo) giving birth to a child (Jesus / the Body of Christ / the Church) who is 'caught up' to Heaven as the Devil is ready and waiting to devour the child.
