The Pretribulation
Rapture
History of the Pretribulation.com Website
The story of PreTribulation.com began long before the internet existed. My first spark of interest in Bible prophecy came in 1976 when, at just ten years old, I read Hal Lindsey’s The Late Great Planet Earth. That book left a powerful impression on me, shaping the way I viewed world events through the lens of Scripture.
As a teenager in the early 1980s, I grew up in the shadow of the Cold War. The threat of nuclear war, “Mutually Assured Destruction” (M.A.D.), and the reminder of the occasional air raid siren test in my Navy hometown impressed on me both the fragility of life and the urgency of national defense. These cultural realities naturally tied into my growing awareness of biblical prophecy.
Though I had attended church in my early childhood—thanks to kind neighbors who took me to Sunday School as early as age five—it was around the age of thirteen or fourteen that I decided, of my own accord, to read the Bible and learn more about Jesus. My faith deepened as I connected global events with prophetic Scripture.
The role of a “Watchman on the Wall” (Ezekiel 33) became especially meaningful to me. I remember in the early 1990s, while attending Calvary Chapel Santa Monica (Metro Church), Pastor Steve Snook preached from the book of Nehemiah. While repairing the wall, Nehemiah held a weapon in one hand, and his tool in the other. That teaching ignited a sense of calling in me: to warn others and to point them toward hope in Christ’s return and what it means to be watching and to be ready.
By 1996, I had become a pioneer in creating websites for churches, ministries, and small businesses. The new digital frontier fascinated me. I quickly realized that the internet could serve as a powerful tool for spreading the Good News and for awakening people to the urgency of biblical prophecy.
I first launched PreTribulation.com on July 24, 2001. Then, just weeks later, the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001 shook the world. A decade earlier I worked on the 70th floor of in the 2 World Trade Center (South Tower). It was inconceivable that those buildings, symbols of American enterprise and success, could collapse the way they did resulting in so much death and destruction. For me, it confirmed the need for this website as a platform to warn, to teach, and to remind believers of Christ’s promise: that God loves us so much He warns us in advance and provides a way of escape through Jesus Christ.
I created this graphic in 1997 and used it on the earliest version of this website. The symbolism is pretty clear.
From its earliest days, PreTribulation.com has existed with one clear mission: to share the hope of the Blessed Hope and to encourage watchfulness in the face of unfolding global events.
