Jack Hibbs: How Do We Get Ready for the Rapture?

How do you get ready for the Rapture—practically, today? In this message, Pastor Jack Hibbs shares simple, biblical habits that keep your heart watchful and your life anchored in Christ: daily time in God’s Word, prayer, holy living, gospel urgency, and joyful expectation of our “blessed hope.”

You’ll learn:

  • How to cultivate a daily walk with Jesus
  • Why readiness is about relationship, not fear
  • Ways to encourage others as the day approaches (Hebrews 10:24–25)

Key Scriptures: John 14:1–3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Titus 2:11–13; 1 Corinthians 15:51–52; Matthew 24:42; 1 John 2:28

How Do We Get Ready for the Rapture?

The number one way to get ready to meet the Lord Jesus Christ is to consciously, willfully, and intentionally determine—every day when you get out of bed—“I’m going to walk with God today.” Actually stand up; if you need to, lift your hands to heaven. Go out to the backyard—I don’t care what you need to do. Stand on your head if you must to make an impression upon yourself and to declare to God, “I’m going to live this day for You, Lord.”

I’m going to go about my job; I’m going to go about my school; I’m going to go about my vacation—whatever it might be—but I’m going to live it for You, Jesus. Cause me to be sensitive to Your Word in my life and to be ready.

And, by the way, that implies that you’re in the Bible—you’re getting excited, you’re reading the Scripture, you’re maintaining your faith, and you’re looking for His return. Because let’s remember this: if Jesus Christ comes back today or 10 years from now, you need to be ready to meet Him today. So walk with Him in the Spirit. Be ready.
