The Pretribulation
Rapture
Jack Hibbs: The Rapture Just Happened: What You Need To Know
If the rapture had just occurred and you were left behind—what happens next? In this sober, hope-filled message, Pastor Jack Hibbs walks through what the Bible says about the period that follows: what to expect in the coming months and years, why deception will intensify, and how to respond. You’ll hear a clear presentation of the gospel, what it means to be born again, and practical steps for living with courage and conviction in tumultuous times. If you know Christ, let this be your motivation to share the good news with those who don’t—while there’s still time.
The Rapture Just Happened: What You Need To Know
Jack Hibbs:
Hey, everybody. This is probably one of the most—absolutely the most—bizarre and yet, I pray, effective podcasts we’ve ever done or ever will do. We’re going to address—leave you, as it were—a time capsule: the rapture has just happened. What are you going to do now?
We’re so serious about this that we’re going to make flash drives—a bunch of them—and when we have them, we’ll make them available for you to keep at home and leave behind for those who have been left behind. This is important. We’ve all preached about the rapture, and there have been bozos for years saying, “It’s not going to happen.” Well, it just did. That’s what we’re bringing to you today: What are you going to do next if you find yourself left behind? Stay tuned.
Well… I’m at a loss for what to feel—not for what to say. I know exactly what to say. You’re watching this right now because what you heard about has happened. What you were told—what you rejected and failed to embrace—is exactly what your friends told you, your kids told you, your parents told you, and what movies have depicted: you have been left behind.
It’s being covered up. Are you watching the news? A whole lot of people are missing worldwide. You’re scared and terrified—and you should be, because what’s in store is sobering.
The Bible is incredibly clear on one point that terrifies me to bring up, but I must. If the rapture has taken place and you’ve been left behind, and if you never heard the gospel before, then listen very carefully. There may be a brief lull in the panic as people try to explain what just happened. You’re hearing all kinds of theories:
An evolutionary “leap” in the natural world—instant transformation.
“Don’t worry, you’re special. Those ‘knuckle-dragging Christians’ had to be removed.”
Or someone on international media will soon calm you: “We’ll help you. It’s all going to be okay.”
Friend, listen: you’ve been left behind. Jesus Christ has come for His church, and you didn’t go.
Very soon—if not already—2 Thessalonians 2 says that because the rapture has taken place and you did not believe, you will be deceived by your own choice and will believe “the lie.” The definite article—the lie—a supernatural deception from Satan.
You may be laughing—“Satan? Really?”—but please remember: you laughed off Jesus, too. And now here you are. We’re gone. You’re still here. What do you do now?
The Bible says in 2 Thessalonians 2 (read it) that you had the chance to believe the truth, but you refused it. So God judges by sending strong delusion so that you believe the lie, because you did not put faith in Christ when you had the chance. I don’t know exactly how that plays out for you—no theologian does. Is it possible to be saved after rejecting the gospel before the rapture? Based on 2 Thessalonians 2, I honestly don’t know. I pray so. But many in the world who never heard will hear the gospel and believe.
What’s about to happen
You will soon hear breaking news of a leader—likely out of Europe—who proposes a peace treaty for Israel and her enemies. It will be a seven-year agreement (Daniel 9:27). For the first three and a half years, there will be a swell of peace and prosperity, laced with profound deception.
This man will swoon the world. You’ll be told he’s an “enlightened one,” maybe even some kind of alien manifestation—one of the “sons of god.” The Bible calls him “the son of perdition”—the Antichrist—a human so demon-possessed that Satan himself will eventually enter him.
Around the midpoint—three and a half years—he will stand in the newly rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem (which he likely permits to be rebuilt) and declare himself to be God. The world will approve. You will have to choose: Yahweh and the Bible, or this man.
If you can, get a Bible—now. There may be a movement to ban, burn, or erase Bibles from the cloud. If you get one, you may have to hide pages in your shoes or jacket. Stop mocking it. How did that work out for you?
Titus 2 — Why we were gone
This is the hope we believed:
Titus 2:11–15 — “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works…”
We’re gone because we were looking for that Blessed Hope—the glorious appearing of Jesus Christ.
Counting the cost now
If you choose to follow Jesus now, expect unprecedented persecution. You refused to live for Jesus when you had the chance; now, if you follow Him, you will likely die for Him.
Revelation 13 says believers will be beheaded for their faith.
Soon you’ll be offered a prefix to your existing personal ID (Social Security number, EU ID, social credit, etc.). That prefix—ultimately “666”—will be required to buy or sell, to travel, to leave your neighborhood. Refuse it, and you’ll be labeled subversive, a renegade, an enemy of the state.
Nations will swear allegiance to this man because he “has the answers.” He has demonic power. Listen carefully—not just to what he says but how he says it.
A religious sidekick will arise—the False Prophet—a unifier, a global spiritual leader. He will commission a device/image (Revelation 13) with power to appear to breathe and speak, and to discern who has the mark of the beast (666). Everyone will be required to add this mark to their ID. Without it, you won’t eat, travel, or work.
What the next years look like
First 3.5 years: deceptive peace and prosperity.
Last 3.5 years: extreme violence, demonic activity, plagues, atmospheric calamity, and global ethnic conflict (Matthew 24). John describes demonic beings like armored locusts with stings (Revelation 9). It will cost you everything to follow Jesus.
In mercy, God will send an angel to fly through the atmosphere proclaiming the everlasting gospel (Revelation 14:6). How? I don’t know—you’ll find out. But you must not believe the global deceptions that will flood your screens.
What you must do
Turn to Jesus now. Settle it: you may die for Christ—but don’t be afraid. They can only take your body. Your soul and spirit can be saved today.
Be cautious. Trust few. Informers will be everywhere.
Find and read the Bible. Start with John’s Gospel, then Matthew, Mark, Luke. Read 1 & 2 Timothy (sound doctrine). Read 1 & 2 Thessalonians (instructions for these days). Then read Revelation—especially chapters 6 and onward—because you’re about to live it.
You’ve been left behind. We told you; we’re not gloating—our hearts break for you. But God’s Word is true: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). “Perish” means to die into hell—to face God’s wrath on the earth and beyond. No one will escape it apart from Christ.
You will hear remarkable lies and see supernatural manifestations that are convincing. Don’t believe them. These are the days of deception. Your final chance is to give your life to Jesus and endure for Him.
I pray God’s discernment on your life. I pray He brings others to encourage you in the Scriptures, and gives you wisdom for what to do next according to His Word. Tell your family and friends—with discernment. Don’t trust everyone. Use every opportunity to say: These things were written in advance. You are living them now—the final pages of earth’s story.
By God’s grace, die for Jesus—and we will see you in heaven.
Even though I’m now in heaven, I pray for you: that God opens the eyes of your mind, the depths of your soul, and the resolve of your spirit to follow the Lord Jesus Christ and His holy Word unwaveringly to the end.
As you face death, remember: “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” We’ll be waiting for you on the other side—if you choose Christ. May God bestow on you profound grace. Turn to the real Jesus Christ. He will care for you. Be faithful unto death, and the Lord will give you the crown of life (Revelation 2:10). In Jesus’ name, amen.
