Background
Charles Caldwell Ryrie (1925–2016) was a theologian, professor, and author best known for the widely used Ryrie Study Bible, first published in 1978. His clear, accessible notes made complex biblical doctrines understandable for pastors, students, and laypeople alike.
Ryrie served as professor of systematic theology and dean at Dallas Theological Seminary, where he became a leading voice in dispensational theology and Bible prophecy. Over his lifetime, he authored more than 30 books, including Basic Theology, which continues to be a foundational resource for Christians worldwide. His legacy lives on through his writings, which emphasize the authority of Scripture and the centrality of Christ in God’s redemptive plan.
