Background
Lewis Sperry Chafer (1871–1952) was a pastor, theologian, author, and educator best known as the founder and first president of Dallas Theological Seminary. A leading voice in dispensational theology, he emphasized the authority of Scripture, the distinct role of Israel and the church, and the hope of Christ’s return.
Chafer authored numerous works, most notably his eight-volume Systematic Theology, which remains a foundational resource in evangelical scholarship.
